FAQs
What exactly is Shilajit?
Shilajit is a biomass rich in nutrients and minerals. Shilajit, also known as Mumijo, is "produced" by mountains. The organic mass flows in many mountain ranges around the world. It can be found at least 3500 meters above sea level. It is very common in the Himalayas. Shilajit consists of humus (soil/ topsoil) and organic plant materials. It forms under high pressure between the layers of rock in the mountains and melts out of the mountains once it gets warmer in the summer. It is then collected there. Shilajit cannot be industrially produced.
Where does your Shilajit come from?
Depending on the batch, our Shilajit comes from Kazakhstan or India. Our Shilajit is collected above 3,000 m altitude. Upon request, we are happy to send the coordinates of our "mountain sources".
How does Shilajit taste?
Especially for people who are taking Shilajit for the first time, the taste is very acquired. It tastes slightly smoky and has a relatively strong smell. Therefore, our recommendation is to drink Shilajit in a tea with a generous spoonful of honey.
What is the difference between Altai and Himalayan Shilajit?
At the market, there is a myth that Himalayan Shilajit is more valuable than Altai Shilajit. However, this is just a pure marketing gimmick. The origin does not determine quality. What matters is the purity and the content of fulvic acid. The higher the fulvic acid content, the better. We guarantee a minimum of 50% fulvic acid. Additionally, we test each batch for impurities and heavy metals.
Does Shilajit have side effects?
Current studies and our thousands of satisfied customers show that there are no significant side effects. Those who suffer from iodine intolerance should not consume Shilajit.
Shilajit should not be taken in cases of gout, iron overload, pregnancy, and in combination with blood-thinning medications.
However, we would like to point out that every dietary supplement, including Shilajit, may have potential side effects. For this reason, we recommend not exceeding the recommended dosage.
What effects can I expect from Shilajit?
Dietary supplements are legally classified as food.
Due to the Health Claims Regulation in the EU, we are unfortunately not allowed to make any statements about the effects of Shilajit.
However, most of our customers are very satisfied with this product and have had good experiences with it.
Please research independently on the internet or in relevant textbooks about areas of application and possible effects.
